International Belt Wrestling Competitions were held at the Ak Bars Martial Arts Palace. During the week, the city of Kazan hosted a large-scale sports and health festival, which brought together more than 600 participants and representatives from 35 countries.
The following were present at the opening ceremony:
- President of the International Belt Wrestling Federation Khabir Khabibullin,
- Secretary General of the International Belt Wrestling Federation Rafik Valiev,
- Vice President of the International Belt Wrestling Federation, First Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Khalil Shaikhutdinov,
- Vice President of the International Belt Wrestling Federation, Chairman of the Belbogli Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan Ravshan Dastirov,
- President of the All-Russian Belt Wrestling Federation Rushan Ramazanov,
- President of the Belt Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan Shavkat Zaripov,
- President of the Belt Wrestling Federation of Turkmenistan Shokhrat Mammedov,
- President of the Belt Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Aleksey Fufachev,
- President of the Federation of Traditional Wrestling and Pankration of India Tamboli Omarmukhtar,

- Secretary General of the Association of National Wrestling Types of Azerbaijan Seymur Gurbanov,

- The XXII World Belt Wrestling Championships among men and women was held with the participation of 258 athletes from 34 countries. In the team standings, the places were distributed as follows: Russia - 1st place, having won 27 medals (7 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze); Kazakhstan - 2nd place (4 gold, 3 silver, 7 bronze); Uzbekistan - 3rd place (4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze); Kyrgyzstan - 4th place (3 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze); Turkmenistan - 5th place (3 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronze).
- World Belt Wrestling Championships among boys and girls with the participation of 142 athletes from 9 countries. Team places: Uzbekistan - 1st place (10 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze); Kazakhstan - 2nd place (4 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze); Russia - 3rd place (3 gold, 5 silver and 11 bronze); Kyrgyzstan - 4th place (1 silver, 3 bronze).
- World Belt Wrestling Championships among juniors and juniors with the participation of 124 athletes from 13 countries. Uzbekistan - 1st place (6 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze); Russia - 2nd place (3 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze); Turkmenistan - 3rd place (3 gold, 1 bronze); Kazakhstan - 4th place (2 gold, 2 silver, 10 bronze); Kyrgyzstan – 5th place (2 silver, 3 bronze).
And the week of sports festival in the sport of "belt wrestling" ended with the International Belt Wrestling Tournament in Memory of the Great Tatar Scientist, Educator, Imam Shigabutdin Marjani, which was held in the format of "wall to wall" match meetings. This tournament, which helps to strengthen friendly ties between participants representing different countries of the Islamic world, was held for the fourth time in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Match meetings were held between 9 teams, in which the strongest athletes from the following countries competed for 1 honorable place: Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia. The Republic of Tatarstan acted as a separate team. The tournament table was lined up in the following order:
1st place - team from Turkmenistan,
2nd place - team of the Republic of Tatarstan,
3rd place - team of the Kyrgyz Republic.
